Why the academic pillar?

This pillar would best be embodied by the statement, “A child that is academically sound”.

The above statement refers to the academic enhancement activities that focusses on the child’s 3 R’s. Reading Writing and Arithmetic (yes not all start with Rs) but this is what constitutes basic knowledge in the world. As such we strive to ensure each child’s level of the 3Rs are in accordance to the level/class they are in.

Above and beyond this, we make it a point to have your child learn a bit and above the norms by also equipping them with the skills that would allow them to interact with the world such as:

Kindergarten

Short balanced curriculum to lay a firm foundation for young learners

Lower School

This section builds on the foundation. Learners in the lower school are given greater tasks which enable them to master the key basics in specific developmental areas.

Upper School

Pupils in upper school are prepared for excellence in academic performance. Values of determination and hard work are seriously inculcated in these learners and are expected to be self driven to participate in the activities whole heartedly.

Junior Secondary

The next level of advanced education for our students once they complete the primary level of the Competency Based Curriculum.

The Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) Implementation

We pride ourselves as one of the main implementors of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) within Kenya.

The CBC was instated by our Government in the year 2017 and since then MGA Schools has taken the initiative of implementing measures to ensure that standards for this system are being met. The system focuses on competency of students, provides flexibility in career opportunities and specializations, creates a balance between formative and summative assessments and emphasizes more on Education and learning rather than schooling.

CBC is a lot more demanding and requires more effort from teachers, parents and students alike. We are currently at the highest level of CBC, with our first candidate class set to take their national examination this year 2022.
